J.Rad performed with Addler’s Appetite, featuring Steven Addler of Guns and Roses fame and Jizzy Pearl of Ratt. The show was electrifying and the guys were a thrill to work with. The only glitch was Steven losing his wallet! Hope it was recovered!

Thursday, May 12th 2005

A last minute cancellation by Great White resulted in a J.Rad headline show. Extraneous circumstances prohibited Brian from playing the show. On short notice Ed Kern filled in on bass and saved the day. Our friends, Lot 16, played a great set and the night was a fun filled success. Hey Fabio! Let’s do it again!

Saturday, July 9th 2005

J.Rad performed with Asia to a capacity crowd. Chris Slade and the gang were perfect gentlemen and a pleasant evening of rock and roll was enjoyed by all!

Saturday, Sept. 17th

J.Rad teamed up with WBAB for the Front Line benefit for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The show was held at Bald Hill at the conclusion of the Bike Run. J.Rad flew solo at the event. This show marked the debut of Jimi Cactus on bass in what was the first ever J.Rad acoustic set. A tasty new wrinkle enjoyed by all who were in attendance.

Sunday, Sept. 25th 2005

J.Rad performed at the Crazy Donkey in a benefit for little Bobby. Uncle Kenny and the family did a fantastic job of setting up the day and gave of themselves unselfishly. J.Rad provided the entertainment and was thrilled to be of service to little Bobby and his family! Bobby, we love ya! Thanks to the thousands who came out to support the event, your contributions were as valuable as our own. God Bless!

Thursday, Sept 29th 2005

J.Rad returned to the Crazy Donkey with Y&T. J.Rad had a record attendance from it’s fan base and the Cactus powered up in his first non benefit J.Rad gig. Like the night itself Jimi (The Cactus) was electrifying and consummated his marriage to the J.Rad project!

Sunday, Oct.2nd 2005

J.Rad performed at the Flower Fields. Twisted Sister, The Brooklyn Bridge, Zebra, The Lizard’s and more all took the stage in support of The Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation. The weekend for a cure campaign was a blast! The show was colossal and the preceding black tie, black leather event was indeed grandiose! Members of J.Rad were spotted in formals and accompanied by lady friends! Pictures from the night can be viewed in the photo gallery section.

Finger’s sang his self written lyric’s “Short Scoot’s on Long Island” in a live musical collaboration with J.Rad. We are all thrilled to have participated and wish Finger’s the best with his new title track and upcoming show! Stay tuned! www.shortscoots.com

J.Rad, despite battling mononucleosis, joined forces with his brother Diezel, Joe Rock (WRCN), Mark Mendoza (TWISTED SISTER) and Dina (BAD ANIMAL) to form Joe Rock’s All Star Band. The gang played a memorable cover set at MR. Beery’s which served as a Thanksgiving benefit for the Hurricane Victims. A special thanks to Joe, Mark and Dina for including us in the lineup. It was a privilege. Those who attended caught a rare opportunity to hear covers from Clapton, Dylan, AC/DC , The Stones , Hendrix, Lou Reed, George Thorogood , Black Crows, Alice in Chains, Led Zeppelin and more.

Monday, Dec.5th 2005

Still battling mononucleosis, J.Rad was literally scraped off the countertop and thrown to the stage. The turnout was incredible and the kid reached down deep and pulled off the show. Once again J.Rad was rushed home from the venue. He extends his apologies to those in support of the band as he could not speak or swallow.

YEAR END STATEMENT

Early in 2005 Brian was playing bass. By mid year Ed had filled in and by the year’s end, Jimi Cactus had succeeded him. Let us start by saying that all are well and in good health. Rigorous schedules and life’s demands make it very hard for the players to conform an overwhelming regiment. J.Rad is a band, business, and most importantly a family of friends. Both Brian and Ed alike are respected as friends and musicians. Each has given of themselves and has influenced the J.Rad project.

The J.Rad Hall of Fame, found in the photo gallery, was created to highlight the special moments in time spent with departed players. The gallery archives those special moments and achievements. The current lineup could not have arrived at this place in time without their help. We value the continued friendship of these musicians and support them as well in any current and future endeavors. We love them all and owe each a debt of gratitude!

The website was down for a while as legal issues overshadowed our efforts. Rest assured that from now on the site will be frequently updated with tons of new photos, videos, sound clips, and information! All issues have been resolved.

Jimi Cactus – Welcome aboard! For those of you who haven’t yet met the Cactus, you will not be disappointed! Jimi and his unique personality is a much wanted asset in any family - musical or otherwise! Gotta Love It!

Fingers (WBAB) 102.3 – It was an honor, a pleasure, and a privilege to help build music for your upcoming Short Scoot’s on Long Island T.V. show. Get the vibe at www.shortscoots.com

J.Rad himself is fine and in good health! Thank you all for the inquiries. He has rebounded, regained some body weight, and been cleared to resume his workout regiment. The concern shown by those around us was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. Love is Alive! (Mono Sucks!)

We apologize to all those who so desperately help and hope for the success of the project. Health, schedules and intangibles somewhat delayed song writing and recording. Although long awaited, J.Rad is proud to announce that the band is currently engaged in the recording of a new CD! The power of the live shows that J.Rad is known for will ring through studio refinement as the Production and Engineering of the cd are being handled by Long Island’s finest Audio Magick!

Site photography which is about to be updated is largely due to the expertise of Curtis Quinn (Lemay Studios), Tami Ellinport, Sarah Pope, and Jade Ferrara. Thank you all for your perseverance and dedication!

We would also like to thank those who have worked countless gigs and have put heart, soul, and worst of all their backs into it - Mark Kurtz, Marco, Chris, Joel, Barry, Zach, Paul, Eric, Brian. You guys rock and are much appreciated!

Each and every year we make new friends and the family keeps on growing. Some of the relationships really hit home and we can’t imagine life without those new friends. Special friends who better the quality of life for all just by being themselves and being around! Curtis Quinn, you are never ending! Brian Lasman, genuine friendship! Tami Ellinport, kindest imaginable! Joel, useless without a video recorder! Hank and Ian, fresh new enthusiasm – we are so happy to have you aboard! Barry Stern, optimism, energy – you got it all!

George Marshall, Eric & Mary, Billy, Mike, Tony – Don’t know what to say!

Well, we think enough’s been said; so let us close out the year by saying WE LOVE YOU ALL! We so greatly appreciate the Magical Musical Journey that you’ve all made possible!

and the Gang
